The cover image is a photomicrograph (200× magnification) of superficial tonsillar squamous cells sampled by means of a tonsillar brush biopsy, which is an oropharyngeal “Pap-test equivalent.” The cytology specimens were stained with a Papanicolaou stain. Normal-appearing superficial tonsillar squamous cells are pictured. Cells stain different colors based on the nature of their keratins and other cytoplasmic proteins. See articles by Fakhry et al.
